TITAN Project Supports SECON Session on IoT Security

The TITAN Project is supporting the MobiSec 2025 Special Session on Secure and Cognitive Continuum (SECON). This session, scheduled for December 2025 in Sapporo, Japan, addresses the complex security and privacy challenges arising from the modern IoT-edge-cloud continuum.

The shift from centralized cloud computing to utilizing resources across the entire continuum, from deep edge devices to federated cloud nodes, significantly boosts performance and efficiency. However, this extensive movement of data creates critical bottlenecks concerning security and privacy.

The SECON session aims to facilitate research into novel automated tools and mechanisms for seamless interconnection, efficient processing of Machine Learning (ML) workloads, and secure distributed edge storage. The focus is squarely on the security and privacy of these new, dynamic ecosystems.

Alignment with TITAN’s Mission

TITAN’s core work on Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and federated learning directly contributes to the solutions being sought by SECON. The project’s efforts to establish trusted environments for confidential computing are vital for securing the entire IoT-edge-cloud continuum.

Submissions to the special session were encouraged in areas directly relevant to TITAN’s expertise, including:

  • Secure data sharing
  • Secure execution environment
  • Data Spaces and applications on distributed environments
  • Cybersecurity of the IoT-edge-cloud continuum

TITAN stands alongside fellow EU projects, EMPYREAN, CERTIFY, RIGOUROUS, and DOSS, in backing this significant research endeavour at MobiSec 2025.
